Cyber safety activity packs keep children safe during the holidays

The Police and Crime Commissioner’s Cyber Ambassador scheme has launched a range of cyber safety activity packs to help parents keep their children safe during the school holidays. The packs are aimed at primary age children and feature the scheme’s Cyber Sea Monsters.

Each pack contains a range of activities designed to help the children learn about the most common traps and pitfalls that come with using search engines, online gaming apps, or chat platforms. Children learn to recognise cyber bullying and the dangers of befriending, and explore concepts such as privacy and safer gaming.

Assistant Police and Crime Commissioner Enzo Riglia said: “Many children have been at home since March, spending an increasing amount of time online through home learning as well as online gaming in their free time. This is unlikely to be much different during the school holidays, which is why we are providing some educational activity packs as part of our cyber safety scheme that help children learn about how to stay safe online in a fun and child-friendly way that doesn’t require a lot of parental input.”

The packs will be available throughout the summer holidays on our keep your children safe this summer page and can easily be printed at home. They are complemented by online videos on the Cyber Ambassador YouTube channel and further advice, tips and challenges on the TikTok @Cyber.ambassadors channel.
