Totton Police Station next to be reopened to the public

19 November 2024

Totton Police Station will open its doors to the public next month as the Police and Crime Commissioner, Donna Jones, continues to fulfil her promise to drive up police visibility.

The police base, which is located on Testwood Lane, will officially reopen to the public on Wednesday 11 December 2024.

PCC Donna Jones said: “My priority as your Police Commissioner is to ensure that Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is public-facing, accessible, and open for business.

“The public have told me they want to be able to speak to the police face to face. Reopening police stations builds vital trust in communities, and bridges the gap in police-community relations that many feel has been lost.

“I’m confident this move will ensure residents, businesses, and visitors feel safer and better connected to their police force.”

The front counter at Totton Police Station will be open to the public five days a week, Tuesdays to Saturdays from 8am to 4pm. Members of the public will be able to speak to officers, report crimes, get updates, seek help and support, and share information.

PCC Donna Jones added: “Police officers have always been in the community working from the station, but now the station will open its doors to those who want to seek face-to-face assistance.

“This is another major step for the public, delivering on my promise as we work together to make Hampshire and the Isle of Wight two of the safest counties in the country.”

The Police Commissioner pledged in September 2023 to reopen 10 more police stations and front counters to the public.

Totton will be the seventh police station the Commissioner has unveiled since the start of this year. More police stations will be reopened in 2025.
