Privacy Notice for the Commissioner’s surgery meetings
The Police and Crime Commissioner complies with data protection law (including the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act) and is a registered data controller (registration no.Z3653467). We are committed to keeping your personal information accurate and up to date. We will not keep your information longer than necessary.
This privacy notice applies to surgery meetings that are held between the Commissioner and a resident (with attendance from an OPCC casework officer and/or staff officer). It explains how we use your personal information and the ways in which we protect your privacy.

Why do we process personal information?
The Police and Crime Commissioner is a public authority, established in legislation through the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 (PRSRA). Surgery meetings are arranged to discuss residents’ concerns, within the remit of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s role in carrying out a Public Task to hold Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary to account and being the voice of residents. The processing of personal information will be limited to the purpose of holding a surgery meeting.
Who do we share your personal information with?
We may share your personal information with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary to follow up on any agreed actions from the meeting.
How do we handle your personal information?
We handle personal information in accordance with data protection law. We will comply with the relevant parts of the legislation relating to security. We will ensure that appropriate policy, training, technical and procedural measures are in place.
How long will you keep my personal information?
A record of the meeting and follow up actions will be kept for the duration of the Commissioner’s term of office plus six months.
