“I am delighted that Liz Truss has been confirmed as the third female Leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.”
“Liz has committed to driving up standards in policing and reducing crime across all communities in the country. I am looking forward to meeting with her in the next couple of weeks, to discuss how best to reduce crime, including lower crimes that affect all our communities and standing up for victims of crime. There are many complicated social issues effecting crime level across Britain.
“In order to tackle these, we first need to acknowledge they exist which starts with the epidemic of knife carrying and drug taking in young people.”
