The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner has been awarded £645,645 by the Home Office in the fourth round of the Safer Streets funding bid to support Southampton City Council initiatives to tackle violence against women and girls, anti-social behaviour and neighbourhood crimes.

Plans to change the Hampshire Constabulary name to include the Isle of Wight took another step forward today.

The National Police Chiefs Council and College of Policing have today (24 May) started consulting on a new race plan aimed at addressing race disparities affecting Black people and changing a legacy of distrust. In line with this, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Constabulary is now further developing its own anti-racism plans.

Residents of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are being asked to take a few minutes to tell police chiefs about their experiences of the 101 and 999 services, as well as preferences for future modes of contact.

Police and Crime Commissioner, Donna Jones has awarded £2.6 million to projects that support victims, reduce offending or re-offending, and protect the vulnerable from crime and exploitation over the next three years.

Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones has recognised and thanked over 20 volunteers, staff and partners from across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight at her first awards event attended by over 200 people.

Following notification from the PCC Donna Jones of her intention to appoint her preferred candidate, Terry Norton to the role of Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, the Hampshire Police and Crime Panel today held a Confirmation Hearing. The panel confirmed her decision. Mr Terry Norton is appointed Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner with immediate effect.
