Wait over for Yateley Police Station to reopen to the public

17 October 2024

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Donna Jones, has confirmed that Yateley Police Station will open its doors to the public at the end of next month.

The police station, on Royal Oak Close, will reopen on Tuesday 26 November 2024 providing a significant boost to police visibility in the north of the county.

The Commissioner will unveil a brand new front counter with public access on Tuesdays and Thursday from 9:30am to 3pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to 2:30pm.

PCC Donna Jones said: “This is a landmark moment for the people of Yateley and for policing in north east Hampshire.

“The police station closed to the public in 2012 and while police officers and police staff have continued to work in the building, it was absolutely essential that the station opened its doors back up to the public.”

PCC Donna Jones added: “The public deserve a transparent and accessible police force with officers who can help and advise them face-to-face.

“My ambition is to ensure there a police station open to the public in every district across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. My plans are coming to fruition.”

Yateley is the latest police station to be opened by the Police Commissioner following her pledge in September 2023 to increase police visibility with the reopening of 10 more police stations.

By the end of 2024, seven will have already been unveiled helping communities feel safer and be safer.
